How the CovPassCheck app works
1 You or your staff install the CovPassCheck app on the smartphones
Simply download the app free of charge from the Apple App Store, Google Play Store or the Huawei App Gallery onto your smartphone.
2 Scan with the CovPassCheck app the EU digital COVID certificate
In this way, you can find out quickly, directly and reliably whether the certificate shown is valid.
3 Check the result
Match the personal details displayed in the CovPassCheck app with the data on the ID document of the person being checked.

Select the checking rule
Open the CovPassCheck app on your smartphone. Choose which rules you need to check by: 3G (also applies to 2G) or 2G+ (also applies to 3G+). If your testing situation does not require testing for booster vaccinations, activate the toggle slider.
In addition, you can set whether you check when entering Germany or within Germany.

Scan the certificates
Press "Scan certificate" and hold the smartphone camera over the QR code of the certificate. If a green tick appears after scanning a vaccination or recovery certificate, the certificate is considered valid in Germany. If you check a negative test certificate, you can see in the CovPassCheck app how many hours ago the Corona test was performed. If further proof is required according to the 2G+ rule, you will be prompted to scan a second certificate.
A digital EU COVID certificate can be presented using the CovPass app, the Corona-Warn app or on paper.

Verify the identity with an ID
You will see the first name(s), surname, and date of birth of the person being checked in the CovPassCheck-App. Match this information with the ID of the person being checked.
The CovPassCheck app only processes the QR code in the smartphone's memory and does not store any data.
A secure check without a flood of data
The CovPassCheck-App does not store any data. It only shows the checked person’s certificate status, first name(s), surname and date of birth.

Find out in seconds if the person you are checking has a valid EU Digital COVID Certificate.

First name(s), surname and date of birth: match this information with the ID of the person being checked.
